WHAT TO EXPECT

PREPARING FOR YOUR FIRST VISIT

  • Please do NOT take pain medication or anti-inflammatory drugs 8-12 hours prior to your appointment.  They may affect our ability to diagnose your needs.
  • For those patients with conditions requiring pre-medication (i.e. heart murmur, rheumatic fever, joint replacement, etc), please remember to pre-medicate prior to appointment.
  • Please bring:

   1.   Any referral information from your general dentist.

   2.  A list of all prescription, nonprescription, and natural/herbal medications.

   3.  Your dental and medical insurance information: name and phone number of insurance company insured’s social security number or member ID and date of birth.

  • Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

CONSULTATION

Your visit will begin with a comprehensive consultation and examination.  We will then discuss your diagnosis and treatment options.

ENDODONTIC TREATMENT MAY INCLUDE:

  • Non-surgical root canal treatment (Root canal therapy)
  • Non-surgical root canal retreatment (Retreatment of an existing root canal)
  • Endodontic surgery (Apicoectomy)
  • Trauma case management
  • Regeneration

FOLLOW-UP

When your treatment is complete, we will send a report with before and after radiographs to your general dentist.  After one week, but within one month, you will need to contact your general dentist for any final restoration (filling or crown)  indicated.

Your tooth is more fragile and prone to fracture after completion of treatment.  Do not function on this tooth until your general dentist has restored with a permanent restoration.

We would like to see you back in our office for a complimentary check-up one year from the completion of your treatment to evaluate healing.
